Patient Care Coordinator - Makai V (Chemo/IVT)

Work Hours
Regular Full-Time (Req. #2017-073) Primarily Monday to Friday, 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. with 24-hr accountability for operational activities. Endurance for shift rotation required when unit staffing requirements cannot be met.

Description of Position

Responsible for the coordinating operational activities of a designated unit in accordance with established nursing standards, policies, procedures, Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations (JCAHO), and regulatory requirements.  Facilitates cooperative and collaborative relationships between nursing administration and staff, and have twenty-four (24) hour accountability for compliance to nursing care standard in the planning, organizing, directing and implementing nursing care.  Works collaboratively with all departments and the medical staff to achieve and maintain quality patient care in a cost-effective manner, and promotes teamwork among all members of the healthcare team.

Qualifications and Requirements

Graduate from an accredited school of nursing with current HI RN license required; Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing preferred.  Minimum of three (3) years experience in acute medical/surgical nursing required.  Oncology nursing certification desired at the time of hire, otherwise will be required to obtain certification within three (3) years of hire.  Management experience preferred; or any combination of education that would provide the necessary knowledge, skills, and abilities to meet the minimum qualifications to perform the essential functions of this position.  BLS certification for Healthcare Providers required, with retraining once every two years.
