Kapi‘olani Medical Specialists (KMS) is a specialty physician group dedicated to caring for Hawai‘i's women and children through excellence in academics, physician training, medical research and clinical care. The group is comprised of over 100 Specialists, Nurse Practitioners and other staff, covering newborn to women's health services at Kapi‘olani Medical Center for Women & Children. KMS operates exclusively for charitable, scientific and educational purposes, offering highly specialized care options at Kapi‘olani and building support for these services within Hawai‘i as a whole. The group’s specialty areas include: Behavioral Health Services, Emergency Medicine, Hematology/Oncology, Neonatology and the full spectrum of Pediatrics. Its Women’s specialists include Adult Hospitalists and GYN Oncology.
At Kapiolani Medical Specialist, our Pulmonology team provides comprehensive care to patients with acute and chronic lung disease, asthma, cystic fibrosis, apnea, and recurring pneumonia, including diagnosis and treatment of breathing and lung issues.

As a Patient Service Representative, you will help to ensure that patients and their families receive warm, friendly and considerate assistance. You will act as a liaison between patients and the professional staff in our Endoscopy department and assist with a variety of administrative tasks. These include interviewing, registering, admitting, updating and creating patients’ medical records; performing accurate and timely processing of all professional/technical fees generated by department providers; and performing cash handling and collection. We are looking for someone sensitive and helpful, with excellent communication and customer service skills, ability to work effectively under minimal supervision, and a commitment to creating a healthier Hawaii.

Minimum Qualifications: High school or equivalent. One (1) year of clerical support in a healthcare setting or related experience. Basic computer skills.

Preferred Qualifications: Basic medical terminology. Experience with EPIC. International Classification of Diseases 10th edition (ICD-10) and Current Procedural Terminology (CPT) coding certification.
